Ah Dann, The Lab Rat

Pinky and the Brain,
the Pinky has no brain...

The Pinky and the Brain, one of my childhood favourite cartoon. It about 2 lab rats with enormous ambition, trying to take over the world. Pinky is the tall and thin albino mouse with low IQ while the Brain, literally the name says it all. However despite their countless attempts, numerous shots, none ever succeeded, all was left in vain.

So here i am, as a lab rat... well, speaking metaphorically.

I was chosen due to my shortcoming. Im a test subject. A life specimen under surveillance. To report on the result after a month.

Actually the new sample products had arrived at the warehouse and they need to test it out the material and quality before launching to the market. As a result, i was summoned because i perspire easily whenever i consume something spicy or anything close to it. It runs in the family.

So this how the new glasses looks like...

frameless specs

It wasnt that bad considering i get to wear new glasses. I wonder if i could update and change it whenever new stocks coming? Like a fashion. LOL. Its cool to be a lab rat!

Things You Ought To Know If You're Going To Singapore

Well, i've been away at Singapore over the weekends for a short holiday. Little do i know, i encountered several things that are kind of surprising to me...

Singapore with Merlion... *rawr*

1. If you were ever to have Soft Boiled Eggs, mind you, they use Dark Soy Sauce instead of the normal Soy Sauce. In the first attempt, the clumsy me didnt know it was dark soy sauce, and i actually got my Soft Boiled Eggs look rather black. By the way, the egg's yolk seems bigger than usual...

it looks BIG isnt it?

2. When you're ordering food, at times (depend on the type of food), the waiter/waitress or seller would ask you, "You would like it to be spicy?". So if you were to reply "No", your meal would be served IN tomato sauce! Yes, whats how it is done. Locally we would put dark soy sauce instead.

3. When you're ordering Laksa, you're actually ordering Curry Mee.

4. I was charged extra SGD0.15 for purchasing chilled drink! I was at Cold Storage buy 2 drinking/mineral water at 600ml, one if taken from the fridge, while the other from normal shelf. Due to the fact that one of then is "cold" or "chilled", i was required to pay more than what i assumed.

like that also kena charged?

Dont get me wrong on me for being cheapskate when its just SGD0.15, its more of a culture shock. Or maybe because i couldnt recall the last time i was in Singapore? Probably like 15 years ago? Thats why culture shock lo...

Despite all, of cause i enjoyed my short vacation at Singapore. I could easily idolize the cleanliness, infrastuctures, transportations and facilities. Roaming in Singapore isnt much of a problem as its very convenient to travel from one destination to the other. They sort of got it all connected.

No wonder we're never the near to Singapore. So near, yet so far. How ironic.

Avoiding Confrontation

No doubt i wasnt very satisfy over certain things. But its better to keep quiet, remain silent. Its not a secret, or rather i refuse to publicly display my discontent. I dont see a point in expressing it cause it probably do more harm than good. Who knows?

Its only rational to nod your head and admit defeat even if you're found innocent. Keep your unhappiness to yourself. It was that moment, you silently curse and condemn. Your reasonable thought will never be heard since its overwhelmed with anger and frustration.

So these are the words i've written down, the least i could do to avoid confrontation. My blog listening to my rants, peace i could find...

Do you want it to be steamed? Or deep fried?

How Do You Know When You Are Famous?

When journalists start to write about the great you. You appear in front cover of every magazine that you could possibly name. You're in "The Elite", you're the next big thing.

Even the all time famous "VOGUE" would like to interview you.

You make an appearance in a mug,
where fresh water is just as tasty as ever.

Kids would assemble your puzzles
instead of Mickey Mouse or their horoscope.

And when things start getting better, you hit the public.
The back alley.

Shopping mall.

On building.

In a countryside around Gateshead, Newcastle Upon-Tyne.

In the city at night.

In the advertisement at the busy street in Taiwan

In the streets of dimmed lights in romantic Paris.

And one of the greatest honors is when celebrities reckon you,
with Victoria Beckham holding a portrait of you in the red carpet.

And Jessica Alba adores you so much even its just a poster in a gala dinner.

When you could finally see yourself in Lourve, where people would admire your portrait,
You're standing right next to Mona Lisa.
Perfection is you, Complete is you. perfecto

You appear in the television

In the movie the Death Proof where you played a major role in the film success.

At the end of the day, you're in every people's hand. Dollar.

As far as you go, sometimes its not always good,
people would want you to be terminated...

At times it might be a little paranoid, but the fact is, you are everywhere. You just cant help it, the power of attraction draws you to the centre of attention. You're a star and papa-paparazzi is your best friend. The eldery wish you were their son; the men want to be just like you; the girls look at your poster every night before they sleep; the kids looks up to you as a fatherly figure.

Its not a crime to be famed; its not a sin to be famous. They made you. You're creating your own era, making your own history. You're a legend!

Hey, its stress at work. Couldnt i had a good time or two dreaming a little while? LOL. Thanks to Photofunia.com, i get to play around and make myself famous!

Transformers ROTF Human Alliance Bumblebee

Bumblebee and Sam were best friends almost from the moment they first met face to face. As they learned more about one another, that connection grew deeper and deeper. Now, whether Sam is behind the wheel, or standing side by side with his friend, they work together as a team. Against Bumblebee and his human friend, no Decepticon stands a chance."

Now, let the photos do the talking.

I found it in my room when i got back from work one day. It was from my brother who lives in KL. Not exactly a surprise for me cause i was kind of knew he might be getting it when he ask me how much was it. Nonetheless, its indeed very pleasant to received this as a birthday present. Transformers ROTF Human Alliance Bumblebee. Thanks bro... ^^

Ever since the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, i've been dropping by at the shops (Toy R' Us, Robot Master and Unique Toys) every now and then to look for this particular figure. However my effort would be, its always out of stock since its a big hit in the market and under the radar of many ROTF collectors.

Ironically, i would be secretly delighted with the response cause i couldnt possibly afford even if its available. No doubt i want it, but it wasnt reasonable and realistic to own it. So, i just pray that the feeling of wanting it my disperse one day. Guess not, cause im now having it. Its so awesome. Its might not be as cool as my SideSwipe, but this BumbleBee is certainly much better, far more solid material, covered in sharp tangerine orange with black stripe. This 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is simply too good!

PGHK #219 Hu

In one of my previous entry where i went to Penang Hokkien gathering, i did mention that i'll make an appearance in the following podcast. I know its a long wait, but worry not, cause its now officially released. In this episode of podcast, we talked about "Hu" (better known as "fish") and the land before Queensbay.

Bomia could no longer be used as John "Miku" Ong had assigned a new nickname for me and my girlfriend. It doesnt sound too bad though. Check out the latest episode of podcast here, PGHK #219 Hu.

Clark Hatch Fitness Center at The Heritage Club

I've been worried about my fitness level lately, and its quite embarrassing i would say. Here's the reason why...

Remember i once participate in my company's inter-department soccer league? Well, during the whole tournament, im undeniably lacking of match fitness. Running for 5mins would end me panting and sprinting for 100meters would land me grasping for air. Short of breath, exhausted, fatigued and worn out. Thats how un-fit i am now. And the countless times my girlfriend said that im thin. Jadi i pakai baju pun tak berapa macho... Thus, i need some work out, i need more stamina.

One of the problems is my nature of work, as it resolves around in office. Sitting in front of computer from 8:10 to 5:30, the only major exercises i got are for my eyeballs and fingers. So it wouldnt be much surprise if one day you happened to notice a big bloated belly clinching on me. Mind you, having a belly is also a "福" (happiness, luck) for us men. Not everyone have the capabilities, potential and power to do so. LOL.

As a result, my dear registered me in Clark Hatch Fitness Center at The Heritage Club, Scotland Road as my birthday present. Thanks dear. I signed up for the weekend package at RM70 montly, which include Friday 7AM-10PM and weekends 9AM-7PM. The machines and facilities are quite similar to other fitness centers, not much significant difference. They provide cardio machines, body building facilities, steam room, studios, rpm, swimming pool... and so forth.

Free and secure parking since there are security guards. Ample parking space. Complimentary lounge with light meal and hot/cold drinks. Free WiFi. Changing room with lockers. Fully air-conditioned facility.

Shu dear holding my smelly shoe at The Heritage Club...

Honestly, its good for me whichever how i think of it. Some work out to stay fit and strong; healthy mind and body. Its about 4.5KM, thats around 8 minutes of driving distance from my house, not too far away. The weekend package also includes Friday, which is a good thing for me as sometimes im off during Friday. Apart from the exercise, i need to watch out my diet too.

If you're interested or for more detail, please dial 04-2288333. Shouldnt they give me any/extra benefits if i blog and promote about it. *ahem*

So... i got to be more hardworking to achieve the "V" shape. LOL.
